First Visit to Kidzania Singapore!

Made our first visit to Kidzania Singapore on 24 September 2016. Had always wanted to go on a weekday, thinking that it would have lesser people. Until recently when I got feedbacks from my friends who visited Kidzania SG on Sat and Sun, I decided to go on a Saturday.

I went to their website and purchased one adult ($30+) and one child ($50+) tickets which cost me a bomb even after Maybank Credit Card discount! Well... for me to pay $30+ for an adult ticket, I thought that there would be things inside there that could entertain me! (Wishing~~ Hoping~~)

So, we headed down to Kidzania early (I felt so... hehe!) and reached their "Departure Hall" about 10.15a.m.. No queue at the "Departure Hall" and Big J got his Maybank card and our wrist bands quite fast!

Although we had went into Kidzania's website and chose those activities that J wanted to do, we still could not make up our mind which one to go first! After asking the staff for recommendation, we were told we should go to the Bank first to get his Maybank Card activated. This Maybank card is used to add in the Kidzos (Kidzania currency) he earns and deduct the Kidzos he uses.

When we reached the Bank (level 1), it was packed with children inside and parents outside as parents are not allowed to go in.

As I did not want to waste anytime, I went on to the 2nd recommendation given: go to the Aviation Academy and take the queue card first!

So, we got the queue card for 11a.m. for being a pilot. You can choose either a pilot or cabin crew per visit. Reason given is that it is a very popular job so they have to control the crowd.

When we got the queue card, it was about 10.30a.m. and no other jobs was willing to accept us as each job's duration is about 20 to 30 minutes and we had to be at the Aviation Academy by 10.50a.m.
So, we went to the Bank to have the card activated while waiting for the time to pass.

I also went to get a Kidzania's PAZZport for him which he can use up to age 17. Which means whatever he earns can be accumulated and keep till he turns 17 years old. So, since we would be going back again, it is worth getting it. Having the PAZZport also provides other benefits!

We went back at 10.50a.m. and Jaydan went in. I had to wait for him outside as only cabin crews allow parents to go in to be the passengers.

While waiting for him, I realised that with all his PAZZport, bank card and kidzos, he really needed something to hold all the items. I went down to shop and had a look at the lanyards available. With so many designs, I decided to wait for Big J to complete his Pilot course and get him to choose the design himself.

At the shop, Maybank Credit/Debit card holders can enjoy 15% discount! So glad that I brought that card along to Kidzania!

When we came out of the mini shop with the new lanyard, I spotted that the Dental Clinic was emptied! Ignoring J's protest, I dragged him over to get it done first.

The next station we went to was the Water Quality Assurance Plant.
While he was doing his job, I went down to the cafe to purchase some finger food for J. I purchased a stick of mini sausages, one stick of fishballs and a Yakitori. Each cost $2.50.

After that, we went to the Health Institute which is next to the Water quality....
While waiting for the session to start, I fed him he fingerfood I had purchased as it seems like there wasn't any time for him to have the luxury to sit and enjoy his food.
Soon, he went in.
He was given a Life Buoy Body Wash when he came out from there.

Next, we went to queue for the Ice Cream Factory.  It requires a deduction of kidzos.
We queued for about 15minutes as we needed to wait for the previous session to end first. It was an eye opener for him to get to know how paddle pop is being made. At the end of the session, he got to bring a rainbow paddle pop and we finished it within minutes!

Then, my tummy started to rumble. Since we were at level 2 and the Pizza shop is also at level 2, I told Jaydan to spend some of his kidzos and make a pizza for mummy! He agreed and we went over. Just nice, the previous session just ended and J got in without much waiting.

Since we had finished most of the jobs that he wanted to try at level 2, we proceeded to level 1.

Big J requested to go to the Fire Station to be a fire fighter. We went over and the session just started not long ago. We had no choice but to wait for about 25minutes. As each session only allows 8 kids to participate, there was another queue forming another 8 kids at the opposite side of the fire station.

Next was the CSI which he got to look for evidence and solved a crime.

Followed up next was Police Officer. They were trained to help the Fire fighters to control the crowd at the scene.

While we walked around to see what to do next, J saw the A&E section and he wanted to be a paramedics instead of a surgeon. As luck was with us, we didn't need to queue. However, the instructor had to go around asking for more kids to join in in order to make the session more fun. We waited for about 10 minutes and the instructor was back with a few kids.

By the time he finished his job as a paramedics, I felt so drained from doing nothing. He was still as energetic as a recharged battery! I managed to convince him that it was near 7p.m. and we should head back home soon.

He requested to be a tourist on the WTS bus first.

So, he hopped on.
I was already head down on the table in front of The Soup Spoon while he went for his tour.

After his tour, he requested for a last activity which was the Candy Shop. I agreed and we went over. That was the first activity that we had to really queue as there were many kids! We waited for the current session to end and then the next batch went in, and then it was J's turn. It was about 45minutes wait. I entertained him by buying a pack of popcorn chicken from the KFC and let him ate it while he was in his queue.

There were a lot of jobs we didn't get to do, either not enough time or he is still too young or too short to participate in.

Another thing to take note is the child could not leave the queue while waiting. Once they leave, their place will be replaced by the next child. Adults are not allowed to queue on behalf of their child.

I purchased the establishment cards for Police Officer, Fire Fighter and Pilot at SGD15 each. However, I only realised that his name was wrongly printed when I reached home. So, please remember to check before you even leave the counter! Although Kidzania is kind enough to get it replaced, I still have to travel down to Kidzania again to get the cards replaced.

For the benefits of everyone visiting Kidzania, you can make use of the following information to plan what your child can play over there.
